I love John MacArthur also, though I have issues with his view of the perpetuity of the spiritual gifts, in particular, the sign gifts, and his Dispensationalism. Other than those two issues, MacArthur is hands down one of the best teachers in the United States.Derek Manninghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00725213182125884539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5442125004165763440.post-78044816830510718352011-11-13T05:28:08.048-08:002011-11-13T05:28:08.048-08:00Thanks for the Post, I Love John MacArthur. Thanks for the post. If you want to read a True story of a man who experienced Hell, Please read 23 minutes in Hell by Bill Weise. It is sold at Walmart and it is life changing because it is true.Judi Cantuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04797280453572301427noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5442125004165763440.post-47053677134156213522011-11-13T01:49:03.562-08:002011-11-13T01:49:03.562-08:00Not knowing exactly what the circumstances were it...Not knowing exactly what the circumstances were it would be hard to make a comment. Let me, however, explain what I mean by the term "humanist". A "humanist" can be a Christian or a non-Christian. For the purpose of our discussion I will address Christian "humanists".

In this context, I refer to a person who does not derive his theology from the Bible, but from some other venue, such as reason, experience, emotions or faith. This is the case with the pastor I am referring to, because he is cleaved to his Pentecostal traditions and presuppositions over and above what the Word of God says. He is not alone, for there are many Christians that are more stubborn about their traditions and presuppositions, than they are about the Word of God.

As far as the Pastor that does not believe in a literal lake of fire, I would have to know what he means by literal. There is some ambiguity here so it's hard for me to comment.

Thank you for reading my blog, and I hope you will continue reading here.Derek Manninghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00725213182125884539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5442125004165763440.post-38674332607513610952011-11-12T22:43:11.197-08:002011-11-12T22:43:11.197-08:00The Pastor at the last church I attended... still ...The Pastor at the last church I attended... still do attend women's bible study, is I guess you would call a humanist. Three women in my bible study quit, one was our leader when Pastor Paul said he did not believe in a literal lake of fire. It is true that more and more of the Pastors to the masses and small church communities are preaching their own interpretation of the Bible to appeal to the consiousness of this generation. Though with the world in turmoil many are searching for Truth in the word..that is my goal. The Lake of fire is a harrowing concept.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
